Directors 2026

Stella Harms

Hi! My name is Stella Harms and I am a director for the WJA swim club 2026. Swimming has been a huge part of my life for the past 11 years. I began my swim journey with River Falls, where I spent the summer racing for the first time and falling in love with the sport. I decided to then join a club team, NCAP, where I grew as a competitive swimmer. More recently, I raced my first season with the high school, Sidwell Friends School, as a freshman. My season was a wild success, winning first at the ISL championship in the 100 breaststroke, as well as second at the WMPSSDL championships in the same event. Over the years, swimming has taught me discipline, perseverance, and confidence, but more importantly it has left me with unforgettable friendships and memories I will cherish forever.

As a director at the Washington Jesuit Academy Swim Club this summer, I had the opportunity to share my passion for swimming with those around me! I did this by spending my summer teaching 11 boys who otherwise might not have access to swim lessons. I believe every child deserves a chance to feel safe and confident in the water, as swimming truly is a skill that can save a life. This program is especially meaningful to me because it allows me to give back to my community is such a unique way. At the same time, it lets me help young swimmers discover the same joy, confidence, and lifelong memories swimming has provided for me. I cannot describe how lucky and grateful I am to be a part of the Washington Jesuit Academy Swim Club! Looking forward to future summers!

Founder: Lindsay Alisbah

My name is Lindsay Alisbah and I am the founder of the WJA Swim Club.

So, what do I know about swimming?

I learned to swim before I was old enough to remember. I have always loved the water. Summers for me have always been spent in either the ocean or the pool – emerging only for sunscreen top-ups or trips to the ice cream stand.

When I was only seven years old, I joined my first swim team and found that I really enjoyed competing. I have swum in most events, but my strongest are breaststroke and individual medley.

I have swum for Nation’s Capital Swim Club since I was eight, and I swim for my high school in Bethesda, Holton-Arms. Some of my biggest accomplishments include scoring 532 points for my high school during my sophomore year and receiving a double A time in my 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley.

Holton-Arms swimming is very important to me and we are a very competitive team. This year, we won a local meet called WMPSSDL championships and our score doubled the team that came in second place. Holton Swim helped me become friends with upperclassmen and appreciate the team aspect of the sport. My hope and goal is to continue my swimming career at a division one collegiate level.

Swimming has always been a great joy for me; a source of exercise, endorphins, accomplishment and more – but it is also a crucial life skill that many underprivileged kids do not get to experience. In the summer after my sophomore year, I saw an opportunity to give back to my community, and launched WJA Swim Club. We hope to grow in the coming years to provide a permanent opportunity for WJA students.
